When this couple purchased their new home, one room came with no purpose at all. They knew it needed to be a closet but wanted it to feel like a tailored beach side dressing room.
The room was generous, but their list of dreams was long — and designing for two is a discipline all its own. Every element needed clearance to spare: frosted glass and mirrored doors that open, panel depths that kept close from hanging in front of them, island drawers that extend without obstruction, and open floor for two people to dress and move with ease. The luxury here isn’t only in the finishes — it’s in the choreography.
Light organizes the room with natural light from the window and light rods that cast an even glow across the hanging sections. Custom frosted glass doors — softly clouded and light-catching, like sea glass from the shore just beyond — keep storage gently veiled, while mirrored doors add depth and dimension. A dedicated vanity with mirrors and drawers for accessory storage gives her a personal moment within the shared space. At the center, a custom island anchors it all: a bench at each end, with storage, hampers and drawers.
The result is a dressing room with the polish of a boutique and the ease of the coast — an empty room transformed into their own beachside dressing suite, designed for two and crowded by neither.
