Project Overview
Nestled within the prestigious Moorings neighborhood of Naples, this Alys Beach-inspired residence presented a singular design challenge: to create a landscape of architectural beauty that could also embrace the joy and energy of a family with children. The result is a layered outdoor environment where quiet luxury and livability exist in perfect harmony.
Design & Execution
-The motor court arrival sequence features sweeping turf arcs and a precision paver pattern, establishing an estate-level sense of arrival worthy of the home’s architectural pedigree
-Silver buttonwood trees sculpted into refined topiaries frame the entry with a quietly formal elegance that feels simultaneously native to South Florida and thoroughly European in spirit
-The rear garden unfolds as a series of distinct outdoor rooms designed for both sophisticated entertaining and everyday family life, with clean lines and a restrained material palette reinforcing the Alys Beach vernacular throughout
Creative & Unusual Plant Material
-Silver buttonwood topiaries transform a regionally native species into architectural focal points, pairing sustainability with artistry from the moment of arrival
-Specimen agave and curated succulent compositions in planter water bowls serve as living sculpture throughout the poolside environment
-An espalier vine trained in a diamond lattice across the white stucco facade creates a graphic architectural living wall that matures beautifully over time
-Horsetail grass, sourced after a determined search, grounds the espalier wall with vertical simplicity that makes the diamond pattern above sing
Environmental Sensitivity & Sustainability
-Silver buttonwood is a Florida native, delivering refined aesthetic impact while supporting local ecology
-Drought-tolerant and Florida-Friendly species are prioritized throughout, reducing irrigation demand without sacrificing visual richness
-The design avoids high-maintenance materials, ensuring the landscape remains beautiful as the family grows into the space
