The landscape design for this waterfront residence was carefully developed to complement the home’s coastal contemporary architecture while enhancing both curb appeal and the outdoor living experience. Designed for the luxury waterfront homeowner, the landscape serves as an extension of the architecture, creating a seamless transition between the built environment and the surrounding waterfront setting.

A key opportunity presented by the project was the ability to frame the residence with a curated collection of specimen palms and layered tropical plantings while maintaining open sightlines to the water. The landscape utilizes a combination of Royal Palms, King Alexander Palms, Montgomery Palms, a prominent Sylvester Palm, and a Pygmy Date Palm to establish scale, visual interest, and architectural balance throughout the property.

Material selections were equally important to the overall design. Mexican beach pebbles and Hampton River gravel were incorporated to create texture and contrast against the clean architectural lines of the home, while Zoysia grass was selected for its dense growth habit, durability, and reduced maintenance requirements compared to traditional turf varieties.

The planting palette incorporates a variety of flowering and evergreen species, including Bougainvillea, Hibiscus, Red Ginger, Magnolia, Blue Daze, Duranta, Crotons, and Podocarpus, creating year-round color, seasonal interest, and visual depth. The design balances ornamental appeal with long-term sustainability by utilizing plant materials well suited to Southwest Florida’s climate and growing conditions.
