Challenge- Add backgrounds & architectural elements to a new construction “white box”.
Foyer- Transformed into a unique welcoming entry; herringbone patterned grass cloth is framed with wide stained alder. A bench
and console table provide storage & seating. Abstract painting adds softness and color along with a custom sea fan shadow box
for a sophisticated coastal appeal. The gold rectangular chandelier punctuates the space.
Great Room- The soaring ceiling becomes the focal point upon entering. This once simple tray ceiling has now become a dramatic
architectural element. Illuminated, stained beams converge on a center square, perfectly aligned in the space.
The expansive entertainment wall has been reimagined. Vertical columns tie into the foyer details for a cohesive look. End to end
floating cabinetry provides necessary storage with a sleek appeal. Floating shelves are meticulously accessorized.
Carefully selected furnishings are perfectly balanced, slubby linen sofa is tossed with watery blue pillows. Metal based lounge
chairs add a touch of black that you will notice throughout the home.
Kitchen/Dining- Without removing all the builder supplied cabinets we enhanced the existing kitchen. The original stainless-steel
hood has been replaced by a custom hood; the knee wall of the island is clad in wood for a more custom look. A new island
countertop of Taj Mahal coordinates beautifully with the existing perimeter counters.
The extra-large dining nook houses a 60” round table utilizing this as main dining area. The added dry bar serves both coffee and
cocktails! Latte cabinets separate this area from the kitchen cabinets, matching countertops tie in with the island. The backsplash
is adorned with marble and gold mosaic tile for a bit of glamour! Suspended above, a jewel-like Lucite & gold chandelier.
Originally the formal dining room, now her office. With this stunning glass & iron room divide, the space has been delineated
offering privacy while still open to the rest of the home. A simple oak stripe clads the ceiling riser, bringing your eyes up. Simple yet
elegant furnishings meet our client’s needs.
Owner’s Suite- Spa-like and serene, a hand tufted sage rug anchors the room. Horizontal applied molding expands the headboard
wall. The soft curve of the headboard is mimicked with nightstands and dresser. Oversized artwork punctuates the space.
Guest Suites- Designed all neutrals with deep wood tones and black metal accents. These rooms are ready for visit from the
client’s sons!
Lanai- Lounge seating for 6 was of utmost importance. For privacy we created a fireplace wall, which originally was open screen in
close proximity to the neighbors. The space serves as a gathering area for cocktails and TV viewing. On the opposite side of the
lanai, instead of the usual dining table we created a bar height island. Stained cypress clads the ceiling, herringbone stacked
stone clads the grill wall, adding natural beauty and warmth.
This home exceeded our client’s expectations, this once “white box” is now filled with warm wood tones, industrial metal accents
and soft, comfortable furnishings.
