This kitchen blends timeless craftsmanship with modern performance. At its heart are dual islands, the second designed as a fully functional dining table alternative. The main island features Taj Mahal stone surfaces with waterfall sides and a traditional ogee edge, bridging transitional design with modern form. Custom whitewashed white oak fronts and one-inch-thick drawer faces sit atop plywood cabinet boxes for durability. Elsewhere, cabinetry is painted with oil-based finishes. The La Cornue CornuFé range in Provence Blue (43″, with satin nickel and chrome accents) anchors the working side, flanked by a Sub-Zero fridge and freezer. A custom appliance garage features pocketing doors that disappear into the cabinet wall, enabling a clean look despite limited space. A full wet bar with glass-front wine cooler, ice maker, and floating shelves is fully LED backlit for evening ambiance. Ceilings rise to 12.5 feet, finished in tongue-and-groove paneling with exposed 12×12 white oak beams, dropped strategically to conceal HVAC runs. Visual Comfort pendant lights (17w” x 24h”) in satin nickel complement the millwork and provide task lighting. All surfaces — including backsplashes — are Taj Mahal quartzite, with the standout detail being a waterjet-cut shell mosaic: Thassos marble with mother-of-pearl accents in a scalloped pattern that spans more than 35 linear feet. The Rohl fireclay sink (34″ x 20″ x 10″) and Rohl satin nickel faucet complete the material palette with elegance and function. Flooring is Legno Bastone 10″ European white oak plank, tying the kitchen to the rest of the open living space with seamless flow.
