The 11,000-square-foot clubhouse expansion was designed to address a growing demand for casual dining while enhancing the overall member experience through increased capacity, operational efficiency, and flexible social spaces. The project transformed underutilized areas into a vibrant dining destination that supports the evolving expectations of today’s private club members.

The target market consisted of an active, socially engaged membership seeking elevated yet approachable dining experiences. The primary challenge was accommodating increased demand without sacrificing views, comfort, service quality, or the ability to host private events. The design team was tasked with expanding food and beverage offerings while maintaining uninterrupted member service and maximizing the value of the club’s premier golf course setting.

A key objective was to create multiple dining environments that appeal to a variety of member preferences and occasions. The expansion doubled the size of the casual grille room, tripled bar seating capacity, introduced a private wine room for intimate gatherings, and relocated covered outdoor dining to preserve unobstructed views from interior spaces. Operable folding glass doors create a seamless indoor-outdoor experience, allowing members to enjoy Southwest Florida’s climate while maintaining year-round flexibility.

One of the project’s most innovative features is its focus on acoustical performance. Recognizing that successful dining experiences depend as much on comfort as aesthetics, extensive research and custom solutions were incorporated to create acoustically balanced environments. A specially developed moisture- and mold-resistant acoustical ceiling system was designed for the covered outdoor dining area, providing sound control while withstanding the region’s challenging climate.

The project also addressed critical operational needs through the addition of kitchen support spaces, storage areas, employee amenities, and dedicated staff facilities. These behind-the-scenes improvements ensure that increased member usage can be supported efficiently for years to come.

The results have been significant. Since opening, food and beverage revenue has increased by more than 30 percent, historically slower dining periods have become active social destinations, and the enhanced member experience has contributed to increased club demand and long-term value. The expansion demonstrates how thoughtful design can simultaneously improve hospitality, operations, member satisfaction, and financial performance.
