This kitchen was designed around a confident, colorful palette, with periwinkle-blue cabinetry standing in as the room’s main architectural statement rather than a quiet backdrop.
Two distinct islands, one in a soft natural wood tone and one painted to match the surrounding cabinetry, create separate zones for prep and cleanup, each topped in book-matched marble with polished nickel hardware throughout. A floor-to-ceiling, panel-ready refrigerator and freezer combination is fully integrated into the blue cabinetry, disappearing into the wall when closed and opening to reveal a fully stocked, color-coordinated interior.
The range was given prime placement at the window wall, so whoever is cooking can look straight out over the stove into the courtyard rather than facing a backsplash, a small but deliberate choice that keeps the cook connected to the outdoors during meal prep. A polished stainless hood, sized to match the room’s tall ceilings, anchors that wall and balances the warmth of the wood ceiling above.
A wood-clad ceiling, brass and glass globe pendants, and a striped runner underfoot complete the space, giving it a collected, designed-from-the-ground-up feel rather than a kitchen built around trends. The result is a space that’s as considered in its everyday function as it is in its color story.
