This condo remodel was a full refresh for aesthetic and functionality. For the kitchen and main areas, the client was hoping for a light and bright coastal feel, opening up the small kitchen to the rest of the main area, and updating for functionality and storage. The primary bathroom had a platform tub, limiting the amount of space available for storage and making the room feel small, as well as needing updated cabinets, tile, and fixtures. The guest bath similarly needed updated cabinets, tile, and fixtures, and the lack of light and low ceiling made the space feel enclosed.

With some small but significant layout changes, along with much-needed cosmetic updates, we were able to maximize the openness, brightness, and overall quality of this condo. We removed the kitchen ceiling detail and wall, heightening the space and opening it to the rest of the room. We added dining room built-ins for more storage. We maximized storage in the laundry room by stacking the washer and dryer, adding cabinets and a small countertop workspace, and building a pantry cabinet on the opposite wall. The finishes here are soft grays and whites, with the addition of soft blue in the kitchen backsplash as a nod to the coastal theme.

The primary bath was rearranged to include more cabinetry where the platform tub had been, opening and lengthening the space. The shell-like mirrors and niche backsplash, gold-toned hardware and fixtures, and subtle white and beige marble elevates this bathroom to a luxurious oasis. We used specialty lighting to highlight and add to the high-end feel, including a wall-wash behind the vanity, gold sconces, and a small gold chandelier. The coastal theme is highlighted through the shell details and the white shiplap in the ceiling tray.

The guest bath needed more light, the illusion of more space, and an updated look. We used a full wall mirror, bright sconces, light white and gray tile, and white oak cabinets to maximize the brightness of the space. By using a frameless shower glass, the ceiling seems to extend farther, making the room feel larger.
