This residential project celebrates flooring as a foundational design element, marrying function with artistry to enhance the architectural language of the home. The geometric pattern was custom-scaled and expertly installed to create a sense of movement and to define transitions between spaces. Careful attention was paid to pattern orientation and sightlines, allowing the flooring to guide the eye while supporting the flow of the overall layout. The flooring played a critical role in achieving the project’s objectives: to subtly define space without adding visual weight, to establish a warm and welcoming foundation, and to deliver high visual impact through craftsmanship rather than ornamentation. A standout moment is found at the entry, where a dramatic inlay creates an elegant sense of arrival, anchoring the space and setting the tone for the rest of the home. Seamless transitions between rooms, a sculptural integration with the custom staircase, and the interplay of natural light all contribute to the flooring’s quiet but powerful presence.
