The standout feature of this project is the incorporation of a 15’ and a 34’ wide picture window made possible by a proprietary 4” x 9” beam system with engineered corner keys, offering panoramic sightlines and a sense of openness.
12′ 6″ high walls and a half-mansard/mansard roof enhance the feeling of spaciousness and architectural sophistication, creating an inviting environment that feels more like an extension of the home than a separate exterior feature.
The absence of a chair rail keeps the visual field open and unbroken, maintaining a sleek and modern look that complements luxury custom homes.
Material selections were made with durability and performance in mind. Carbon steel fasteners and five 1/8” stainless steel support cables add strength and stability, while 18/14 fiberglass screen in the walls and 17/14 polyester screen in the picture windows provide the flexibility to stretch the wide distances and increase visibility.
A 7” super gutter system was used to accommodate Florida’s frequent and heavy rains, ensuring proper water management without detracting from the enclosure’s appearance.
The project presented a unique opportunity to maximize enclosure width while meeting wind load requirements and maintaining clean design. Engineering precision and field expertise were critical in executing the long-span openings and tall wall elevations without compromising safety or aesthetics.
Two oversized 36” x 96” screen doors offer easy access and are positioned for both function and flow, contributing to a thoughtfully designed floor plan.
