With the recent completion of Phase II of a two-phase 24,000-square-foot clubhouse expansion, The Club at Mediterra’s now nearly 60,000-squae-foot chic European-style clubhouse serves as the epicenter of social life within the community. Phase I included the expansion of the popular cypress bar and tavern, the addition of an outdoor covered bar terrace, a new west-facing dedicated fire pit terrace, and a new covered grille terrace. Phase II included enhancements to 7,000 square feet of existing clubhouse space. A thoughtful renovation included replacing the awning structure over the cypress bar and tavern with a permanent roof structure featuring a clerestory element that illuminates the space below with natural daylight and blends seamlessly with the building’s architectural style, colors and finishes. At the same time, the covered outdoor tavern space was expanded by nearly 1,400 square feet and a new, efficient screen system enhances the outdoor dining experience. The timber joist with tongue-and-groove ceiling structure with ceiling fans, radiant heaters, and recessed can lights add to the all-weather flexibility and ambiance of the outdoor dining venue. The new 1,850 square-foot outdoor covered bar terrace provides unfettered views of one of Mediterra’s two Tom Fazio-designed golf courses. Featuring 70 seats, 23 bar stools, and over-bar mounted televisions, the bar offers direct access to both a new 680 square-foot outdoor covered grille terrace and the expanded outdoor tavern, while new enlarged folding glass doors open to an indoor bar lounge. The terrace is situated adjacent to a new west-facing fire pit terrace that capitalizes on Audubon Silver Sanctuary golf course views during the day and sunset views at night. Offering seating for more than 60 people, it is an ideal area for cocktails and socializing before and after dinner. Two water features flank the large, centrally located fire pit, which was lowered from the previous outdoor terrace level to create a more intimate space. Mediterra offers an engaging atmosphere with formal and informal indoor and alfresco dining and varied menu concepts to ensure an outstanding experience. Ranked among the country’s Top 10 healthiest communities, Mediterra’s Sports Club was recently expanded to accommodate increased use of its fitness center – now double its former size and equipped with the area’s only Life Fitness Synrgy system. Mediterra also brings the area’s famous Gulf of Mexico beaches to its members with the private, 10,000-square-foot Beach Club offering a second-floor pool, indoor and outdoor dining, open-air shaded lounging areas and beachside concierge service.
