This magnificently designed custom home is located in the heart of the Moorings is a product of collaboration between by a newly retired couple moving down from the mid-west and award winning architectural firm. It was very important to the owners that the front facade of the home have a classical west indies design. The gable roof lines combined with the modified gable accents are apparent in this style of architecture. The large overhangs and painted corbels and white louvers add detail to the roof lines of this home. In order to create a more “clean” exterior look that the owner wanted we painted the concrete stucco a bright white, left the window sills clean cut out of the stucco and decorative shutters were excluded from the design. To add a little contrast we accented the home with dark window frames with muttons, dark stained wood garage doors and a dark solid mahogany front door. welcomes you to the home. This community is home to all different kinds of architectural styles. We wanted to bring a new and fresh look to the homes here yet also compliment the neighboring residences. We took the West Indies style of architecture and added contemporary elements to create the new product in the neighborhood. This design lives well inside and out via the floor to ceiling windows and doors that creates an open entertaining space that is flooded with natural light. With an incredible 5,900 square feet under air and totaling 7,166 square feet this one story home has been referenced by many of our other current clients as they fell in love with it. The floor plan consists of a Master bedroom, a VIP suite and 2 addition guest suites. A study, living room along with unique design features such as a butler’s pantry and a summer kitchen compliment the layout of this floor plan. The architect was also hired by the owners to draw the ceiling plans, design the trim and molding profiles and details in order to ensure a consistent clean look and feel within the home and within each space. The tongue and groove vaulted ceilings and the symmetrical beams are all traditional design details that would be found in an older West Indies style home. We painted everything white and made sure the air conditioned vents were linear in order to reinforce the clean and bright airy look and feel throughout the home.
