Interior Design of the Year – Remodel

Private Residence
Under $100,000

This interior design project transformed an outdated and dysfunctional home into a timeless space for the clients. The new layout of the kitchen was achieved by relocating multiple mechanical features and appliances and replacing tasteful light fixtures and cabinetry. The island incorporates additional seating and allows for the kitchen to be the heart of the space. The design encourages flow between the kitchen and the great room. The ceiling design over the kitchen was revised to flow with the existing dining room ceiling for a higher end, architecturally pleasing look. Beautiful features, such as cerused oak cabinetry and an intricate marble backsplash, add character to the space and the rest of the home. The porcelain countertops add to the livability of the space. The bathrooms were all transformed with new porcelain tile, plumbing fixtures and light fixtures. The master bathroom was completely remodeled. A sleek freestanding tub is now the focal point of the bathroom with an eight-light chandelier above. Bright white and gray oversized slab tiles fit the scale of the gracious shower space. New, bright white custom designed cabinetry completes the updated space. There are endless details throughout the space that make this older home feel new again.
