Our Company successfully completed this 22,769sf interior and exterior renovation/addition, on time and on budget, Mid-December 2019 in time for season! Pelican Bay South Beach is a private multi-use facility, including a restaurant with sheltered recreational activities with beach support and beach access for Pelican Bay Members and their Guests. On most projects, permits are complicated, time consuming and frustrating at best, being directly on the beach added even more
FEMA, DEP, FWC, Gopher Tortoise, Coastal Construction Setback Line Permit, Vehicle on the Beach permits to name a few. The project was strategically scheduled to begin with new IPE deck and ramp first as Turtle Nesting Season prohibits any construction on the beach May thru November. The dining room, kitchen and restrooms were completely gutted, enlarged and renovated to perfection. Sunsets can now be appreciated while having dinner under the new timbered outside covered dining area, complete with fans, TVs, heaters, motorized screens, louvers, POS stations, an entertainment area and/or beach fitness class area. With any restaurant opening there are many moving parts and pieces, but this project posed problems being directly on the beach. Turtle lights were key to this project and had to comply with DEP regulations, building materials needed to be able to weather beach conditions and key logistical strategies were in place as the design team, workers, sub-contractors, material deliveries, tools, small machinery and Collier County Inspectors needed to be transported along a 1.5 mile board-walk tram system using several solar/electric golf carts/gators and/or 6 passenger trams.
