Nichols Community Health Center (NCHC) is a three-story medical office building by Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida located at the corner of Green and Collier boulevards in Collier County. The 52,115-square-foot building offers an array of outpatient care services such as pediatric, dental, mental health, behavioral, as well as a full pharmacy with drive-thru. Room types include offices, exam rooms, dental exam rooms, dental operating rooms, denture lab, nurse stations, x-ray rooms, waiting rooms, triage areas, ultrasound room, pharmacy, lactation areas, a catering kitchen, conferences rooms and a board room. For the past six years, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida has been determined to bring this medical complex to the community to serve a patient base of 50,000 adults and 12,000 children who have difficulty receiving the basic primary healthcare. The project site required diversion of an existing retention pond and approximately three feet of imported fill to the site. The building foundation consists of vibro-replacement geo-piers with conventional reinforced spread footings. The structure is predominantly a steel frame with solid filled masonry elevator shafts and stair towers. The building exterior consists of cold formed metal framing, gypsum sheathing, air and moisture barrier, clad with lath and plaster. The north and south elevations have a continuous curtain wall system, and the east and west faces are primarily plaster/stucco with punched window openings. The roofing system consists of lightweight concrete capped with modified bituminous membrane roofing.
