Calista is a stunning 5,540 square foot home featuring five bedrooms, six bathrooms, designed to appeal to the affluent 2nd home buyer. The Designers designed all of the exterior and interior details and specified all of the materials. The challenge for this model home was to begin with an existing architectural plan, and create a very marketable, livable home that would appeal to homebuyers. The Designers determined the best aesthetic for the home, so that it sells quickly (which is taken very seriously by this team). Starting with the plans for the home, the decision was to proceed with a more contemporary aesthetic than the original plan indicated. Developing furniture plans were then done, to determine ideal placement of ceiling details. The goal was to design ceiling & wall architectural details for each room, that were unique. Each room features unique architectural details, and finishes. The Great Room features a cerused wood vaulted ceiling done in Roman Rock, a Fireplace Wall Built-in with recessed back-lit shelving, and natural wood cladding around the kitchen entry. The Kitchen Island features a unique multi-finish and is centered on the tray that has floating beams- a compliment to the Great Room ceiling. The custom designed hood is flanked with floating under-lit shelves fabricated in metal, featuring metal rivets. In the Kitchen Dining area, the wall of cabinets simulates an apothecary style and are stained in a carbon finish to add drama. The temperature-controlled Wine Room is fabricated in oil rubbed bronze metal & clear glass. A marble mosaic floor, and wall showcase a wine cabinet with drawers and wine storage. Great attention to detail was taken to ensure that 550 bottles of wine could be stored, while having a design that reflects the homes aesthetic. The Dining Room ceilings floating beams appear to crisscross and float down the walls and are received by under-lit floating ledges. Double Barn Doors flank the entry to the Study, with a uniquely designed built-in stained in two finishes and accented with bronze hardware. A crisscross of back-lit ceiling beams anchors the room. The Master Suite 13 high ceiling features a classic architectural design and creates a striking impression with the custom upholstered & mirror built-in headboard. By reworking the master en-suite, the double vanity with Mother-of-Pearl mosaic tile mirror detail is the focal point. The bathroom boasts a large soaking tub and oversized shower, with chevron Calcutta marble & Mother-of-Pearl tile details. The Calista Model offers three generously proportioned guest suites, each with their own unique ceiling and wall details. A successful blending of design elements unifies the interior of each en-suite. The outdoor area flows cohesively from the interior of the home, with the pool as the focal point. featuring aqua glass tile by Lunada Bay. One of the most rewarding aspects of working on this home, was working with the Construction Team. An experience that not only created comradery, but also resulted in an incredible home!
