The modern combination of warm gray, white and black on the exterior of this two-story private custom estate continues throughout the home’s 5,500 square feet and outside to its generous outdoor living spaces, where it’s paired with white, cream, black and earth tones and shimmering accents of gold, silver and antique bronze. Wire-brushed wide-plank European white oak flooring set on the diagonal provides a light canvas underfoot while rift-sawn white oak in charcoal, quartzite countertops and selections of grasscloth – from neutral toned and to ombre-dripped with a high-gloss finish – provide organic movement and natural texture.
Custom design features include a floating TV wall in the great room, a wine room, wet bar, second-floor morning kitchen, reverse soffit ceilings with cove lighting and a client-requested watering/feeding station for their dogs. Details make all the difference, from the kitchen island’s dramatic Ijen waterfall countertop to the framed glass sliding doors opening into the second-floor loft and the textural charcoal ledgestone surface of the linear fireplace and the custom pool’s waterwall.
Modern furnishings favor simple lines with shades of cream and white and hints of earth tones counterbalanced by noir and deep grays. Contemporary lighting incorporates glass and black metal and nods to the home’s combination of black accents.
The chef’s kitchen blends charcoal and natural finished rift-sawn oak and charcoal cabinetry with latch-touching for a streamlined look and offers high-end Wolf and Sub-Zero and Miele appliances. Ijen counters, with a light gray background accented with muted blue and gold veining, are the impetus for the home’s whispered gold accents.
The light-filled second-floor primary suite features a sitting area, a coffered ceiling and has two walk-in closets and wood flooring. The luxurious bathroom boasts a freestanding tub, frameless glass shower and floating charcoal rift-cut oak vanities with Mont Blanc Nuevo quartzite countertops.
Resort-inspired outdoor living features a custom tongue-and-groove ceiling, its soft black surface echoed in the outdoor kitchen’s cabinetry and matte-black granite countertops. Alfresco spaces, including open-air upper and lower terraces, overlook the pool and spa and gaze through glass partitions to a waterfall within the community.
