SALESSales Manager of the Year

As the sales director for London Bay, Michael Veliz oversees companywide sales and team members at the award-winning Mediterra master-planned community, the luxury Grandview high-rise condominium slated for completion in spring 2023, and custom model homes built in Southwest Florida’s most prestigious neighborhoods. By mid-2021, the company’s portfolio of new model and inventory homes and others nearing completion had sold out, presenting a unique market shift: competing against luxury resales offering an accelerated move-in timeline for buyers not willing to wait for new construction. 
Presented with this new challenge, Veliz focused on engagement, education and communication, encouraging the team to reach out to potential buyers to better understand their needs and determine when a newly released homesite and a specific model align with their vision. Through market research and shopping the competition, the team gained a better understanding of luxury resales to promote the strengths of a new home by London Bay.  
Despite the limited supply, the team sold 47 single-family homes and condos, achieving $156 million in sales from June 1, 2021, to May 31, 2022.  
Collaboration extends beyond the sales office. Veliz encourages members to get to know their colleagues in London Bay’s construction, interior design, renovation and client development departments for a comprehensive understanding of the entire build-design process. He leads by example, participating in companywide events and supporting London Bay’s philanthropic initiatives. 
Veliz channels more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience to promote camaraderie and staff retention. Only one new member was added to the sales team during the last year. He’s readily accessible and always available for one-on-one coaching and group role-playing scenarios.  
Since joining London Bay five years ago, Michael has led record sales by focusing on superior customer service, collaboration and communication, the hallmarks of London Bay’s commitment to Private Label Living.  
Michael is a member of NABOR, the National Association of Realtors and the Institute of Luxury Home Marketing.
