The original kitchen design had a traditional look and feel with a closed in layout that was less than functional. The homeowners were looking to update their kitchen and give it a refreshed look, with a contemporary, timeless design with modern hues.
They wanted something different, a bespoke kitchen those they chose to entertain would talk about even after they left. A space where they’ll be able to gather with friends and host their family.
To accomplish this goal, the entire kitchen was demolished and reconfigured to open the space creating a more functional layout. A combination of painted rift cut white oak inset cabinetry with a slim modern door profile, and accented matte black metal framed glass cabinetry are the canvas of the kitchen.
The new large center island includes a unique raised top with waterfall edges, while the kitchen hood is a leading statement piece wrapped in natural stone that matches the one featured inside the back wall cabinetry. Adjacent to the kitchen island is a dry bar featuring a custom, ceiling mounted, glass and black metal shelving, and a prep area with waterfall countertop details. The bar was designed to be a statement piece that balances the dining room and kitchen together.
The original pantry was reconstructed to allow space for a new wine cellar. While a new walk-in pantry was added, featuring closet materials to maximize the homeowner’s storage needs. The new kitchen includes Wolf appliances, Sub-Zero refrigerator and freezer, and Legno Bastone hardwood flooring.
