Diana Hall Design – marilyn

This once, seldom used dining room has been transformed into the dramatic focal point of the home. The original set of 10, Silk-screened Marilyn Monroe prints by Andy Warhol, are showcased here. The walls come alive with color & delight! The simple white frames and mats were carefully selected to enhance the art and not distract or compete.
The back wall is mirrored from floor to ceiling, visually enlarging the space and beautifully reflecting the 8 prints on the side walls, now appearing as 16 in the room! The 2, more neutral toned, Marilyns hang on the back mirror wall, giving them a space of their own to be enjoyed.
Lighting is an important element in the design of this specialty feature. Red LED cove lighting enhances the overall mood with an extra splash of color, while white light bathes the Marilyn prints emphasizing their exquisiteness.
Our design intent was to take this nook style dining room from ordinary to extraordinary! You are immediately drawn to this room upon entering the home. Previously this space was scarcely used, now with new life it has become the owner’s favorite room for hosting dinner parties and even relaxing with a cup of coffee in the morning!
