The client’s desire was to transform their lifeless Kitchen and Master bath into sleek, minimalistic modern spaces.
The kitchen has been opened to the great room for optimal light and entertaining. Challenge- incorporating structural columns seamlessly into the design. Expansive island boasts a 3” waterfall edge cascading with grey veining. A dramatic twist of LED lights floats like a cloud above the island.
The main appliance wall is compact and functions seamlessly, the refrigerator/freezer is camouflaged with wood grain, flat panel cabinetry. Integrated exhaust hood is tucked behind a cabinet panel. Carefully selected pebble-like backsplash balances our color palette -perfectly tying together the cabinets, flooring, and countertops. Around the corner- left of the fridge is an unexpected wine refrigerator to house the client’s extensive wine collection. A triumph in space planning!
Master bath-Challenge reconfigure the floorplan and raise the ceiling while working around structural walls and mechanicals. By removing the seldom used tub and outdated curved wall behind it, we created a dramatic focal wall for the sinks and storage. Cool grey Italian lacquered cabinetry captivates. This uniquely designed configuration was designed with a floor to ceiling tower, housing linens and appliances to keep counters sparse and uncluttered. The sink vanities appear to be floating with setback kicks and under cabinet illumination. Simple sheet mirrors are enhanced with grey lacquer frames. Chrome hardware and faucets punctuate.
The shower and W/C were adjusted creating a more efficient floorplan. With attention to detail the water closet door has a window-like appearance adding depth and light.
The shower brings an unexpected pop of color! Pebble-like blue, grey, and white tile adorns the shower floor. Blue-grey glass subway tile set in a herringbone pattern cascades down the far wall.
Oversized matte porcelain tiles in soft greige comprise the main floor, we chose to use coordinating polished tiles on the right and left shower walls pulling in the sheen of the lacquered cabinetry. Carefully selected artwork brings both color and texture.
As seen in the before and after photos, the kitchen and bath have made a stylish, modern, transformation, from ordinary to extraordinary!
