Altaira Residence – The Colony

Our challenge was to delineate the open floor plan into separate areas based on our clients’ lifestyle.
Entry
With subtle glamour, this once white vestibule welcomes guests. Dazzling crystal chandelier calls attention. Making this petite space interesting, horizontal molding expands the walls and Mica paper adorns, custom floating “drawer” adds function with style.
Dry Bar
This notched out space needed special attention to be engaging enough, considering it is the first thing you see after walking through the Elevator Foyer. Due to its size and location, it was perfect as a dry bar. We angled the lower left cabinet with the wall to create flow into the room. The custom floating shelves dazzle with accessories and glassware. The wall is papered with a hint of soft metallic silver which runs the length of the room onto the media wall.
Living Room
This unique floorplan called for extra consideration in the main entertaining area. Needing to provide area for TV viewing while keeping it engaging for entertaining. Accomplished with a curved sectional, inviting you in. The cocktail ottoman gives you the ability to relax, the oversized tray functions for beverages.
Chat Area
Typically utilized as dining, we took advantage of the windows creating a gathering area. Swivel chairs for intimate seating, “crystal ball” lights, add interest -maintaining the view. The rug feels like small waves lapping the shore, minty greens & watery blues. The sculptural cocktail chosen for its airiness. Mermaid drink tables shimmer with iridescence.
Dining Room
Marked on floor plan as the TV area, we felt this would make the perfect dining space. Large enough for entertaining, intimate enough for every day. Glass top keeps the space airy and open. To serve as a buffet, a custom ledge, narrow enough to function, yet allowing a walkway. Challenged with the location of the J-Box not centered, a dropped circle of drywall serves to relocate the chandelier and an overall enhancement to the room.
Master Suite
This master bedroom is spa-like with a hint of glamour. Mimicking our foyer walls, we have applied horizontal molding which brings your eyes toward the window. This swirling rug of blues & greens was the launching point for the design of the master suite. The circular hardware on the nightstands and glass orb lamps mimic the circles in the rug. Taking advantage of the exceptional view, a chaise lounge for reading. The bed is dressed in watery blues and violet hued neutrals, creating a relaxing retreat.

Guest Bedroom 1
One Guest Bedroom was to have a masculine appeal for their son, yet still appeal to all guests. Given instant personality with a bold blue headboard wall. The upholstered bed is complimented with shagreen nightstands and notable chiseled glass lamps.

Guest Bedroom 2
The more feminine bedroom is light and whimsical. The stylized winged bed is complimented by soft velvet dot patterned benches. Cladded nightstands in lacquered white grass cloth with metal and Lucite lamps carefully chosen as jewelry.
