AdditionsREMODELING
Builder/Remodeler
The home was originally built in 2015 with the floor plan including just three bedrooms. The homeowners’ goal was to add more space for guests and family when visiting. As well as extend the primary suite to add more square footage. To accomplish this goal, a second story addition was added to the garage, while the primary suite was extended out, closing in a small part of the covered lanai. The new addition added two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and lounge space. The process of adding the addition began with an autopsy of the original foundation and ensuring it was possible to engineer a second story addition on top of the original foundation. The next step was to ensure architecturally the addition complemented the original architecture and did not look like an afterthought. To do this, the new windows that were added to the second story addition, replicate the original windows. Including arches and columns, so when looking at the home, you would never know the addition was added.
The addition can be accessed by the newly added stairs in the mudroom. Once you walk upstairs you enter into the lounge space that includes a wet bar and custom built-in. The use of a custom built-in is a great example of maximizing the space allowing both a wet bar and entertainment storage. While the interior design and furniture were selected to maintain a modern aesthetic while also maximizing space.
