Private Residence

Naturally occurring sea glass gathered by the homeowner from the beaches of Collier County was the inspiration for this 9,300 square foot private residence in the Pelican Bay neighborhood of Naples, Fl. The original home was demolished, and this Sea Glass Sanctuary began to rise in its place. The master suite of this coastal, transitional home is a serene and luxurious retreat, designed to evoke a sense of relaxation and tranquility.
The bedroom is spacious and light-filled, with large windows that offer views of the lush landscaping and infinity spa from the outdoor area. The color palette with hues of sea glass blue, soft neutrals and bright white creates a calming atmosphere. The flooring is a wide plank, light European oak and a silk, abstract patterned area rug adds warmth and texture. The king-sized bed with tight upholstered headboard in a light blue linen and oak details adorned with crisp white linens, soft pillows and a lightweight coverlet create a comfortable and inviting oasis for rest and relaxation. A mix of handcrafted case goods comprised of a two-tone distressed oak dresser, bedside tables with curved drawer fronts and custom hardware and a comfortable armchair for lounging and reading complete the space.
Connected to the bedroom is a whimsical sitting room and study designed just for her. Exuding femininity, it is built right off the bedroom so that travel plans, meal plans, events and family matters can be attended to in peace, often late at night after the family has gone to bed so as not to be disturbed. The client wanted pinks and crips white, a departure from the light blue that lends itself to a wonderful secondary palette. The organic shaped ceiling design houses LED lighting and is replicated at the custom curved built in bookshelves. Cabinetry is finished with thick acrylic shelf dividers, playing well with the acrylic legs of the floating desk, both strategically placed for light reflecting qualities and to mimic crystal attributes.
The bathroom is understated with tailored lines designed to maximize the storage in this narrow, rectangular space. The color scheme is consistent with the bedroom as showcased in the European inspired shower/tub area, all encompassed by a fleur-de-lis inspired mosaic tile with white and light blue accents. The clients wanted crisp white tile throughout, so the designer used thassos tile on the main and shower floors. Echoing the soft blue from the feature tile walls are the custom His and Her vanities and linen closets.
This master suite was conceived to truly provide the clients with their own sanctuary. When the family and guests are gone, this space is a serene and luxurious retreat, designed to transport one to a state of relaxation and tranquility, to unwind and recharge in your own private coastal oasis.
