CGU Homes – Private Residence

This custom four-bedroom, seven-bathroom luxe but comfortable home transports any visitor from the bustling streets of Naples, Florida, to a tropical oasis sprawling on nine- acres of beautiful vegetation. The client and design team collaborated to design a family compound that is grounded in layers of neutrals, textures and metallics with subtle pops of color. The living spaces focus on the expansive pool and courtyard which includes a beautifully designed entertaining area with outdoor kitchen, fire pit and covered seating area.

The home has an enormous amount of natural light with expansive glass panels along the front elevation and mirroring glass panels along the rear elevation. Guests enter the home from an all-glass, pivoting entry door and walk into an open-style great room and dining area with cathedral ceilings, Lagos Eternal Beige wood ceiling details and panoramic natural light. European Light Rustic Oak adorn the floors throughout the home.

Situated in the left wing of the home is the study, a powder bathroom and the master suite. The master suite includes an expansive bathroom with separate him-and-her sections connected with a shared shower. The master bedroom is complete with a four-post bed with cathedral ceilings and wood beam details.

On the other side of the house is the kitchen, pantry and “dirty kitchen” fit for a professional chef. Between the kitchen and outdoor living area boasts a beautiful breakfast nook with a coffee bar tucked away into custom cabinetry. The home’s VIP suite is nestled back off of the kitchen with gorgeous views of the garden.

Some unique features of this property are the detached guest suite and art/ fitness studio. With the client’s active and social lifestyle in mind, the design and construction team implemented an art/ fitness studio to the left of the backyard layout and a guest house to the right – all with gorgeous views of the pool area. In addition, all of the interior doors were custom made and the decorative lighting package is stunning!

The pool consists of a lap lane and a sun shelf. At the far end of the pool is a water feature that connects an elevated deck to the pool and has an 8-person seating area with a pergola and a louvered roof system. This louvered roof system transforms an outdoor seating area with natural light coming in from above, into a dry place to sit, a way to sit in the shade, or to keep your seating area dry when it is raining out.

Other key considerations throughout the design process included utilizing the abundance of natural sunlight while providing the client with maximum privacy within the property.

Despite the immense challenges of COVID-19, including labor and material obstacles, the construction team completed the project on a tight timeframe and provided the client with the home of their dreams while working with a great overall team!
