This custom four-bedroom, seven-bathroom luxe but comfortable home transports you to a tropical oasis sprawling on nine- acres of beautiful vegetation. The client and design team collaborated to design a family compound that is grounded in layers of neutrals, textures and metallics with subtle pops of color. The home was designed and created to be a resort-style tropical oasis for the clients, and the pool and the outdoor living spaces can be viewed and enjoyed from every aspect of the property – including from the guest house and detached art and fitness studio.

The pool consists of a lap lane and a sun shelf. At the far end of the pool is a water feature that connects an elevated deck to the pool and has an 8-person seating area with a pergola and a louvered roof system. This louvered roof system transforms the outdoor seating area with natural light coming in from above into a shaded, dry place to sit when it is extremely hot or raining out. It also has a fan and lighting that is controlled with a remote.

The flat surfaces off the rear of the home are framed with contrasting, two-toned walkways made of Turkish shell stone and natural gray Lagos stone. These walkways connect the guest house and pool to the main house, and the pool to the art studio/exercise room. Most of the ground cover consists of synthetic turf, but there is a variety of natural vegetation bordering the different buildings and in select areas of the backyard.

The expansive covered outdoor living space includes an outdoor kitchen, a seating area in front of a fireplace with a television above, a dining table for comfortably seating eight people, as well as its own bathroom. The space can be protected with roll-down screens and shutters with the touch of a button making it easy for the clients to protect the furniture from wind-driven rains which we experience in the summer months. There are elements of stacked stone around the fireplace which beautifully hides the grill hood. However, one of the favorite architectural details of the home is the breezeway connecting the outdoor living area to the guest house where the columns are wrapped in the beautiful, stacked stone. Lastly, the beautiful ceiling in the space is a select cypress wood finished with a light texture and the flooring is the Lagos Eternal Beige stone.

The home, the outdoor living area, and its landscape were tastefully designed and organized to be low maintenance while maintaining the architecture and interior design elements.
