This master suite was completely reworked to create a more updated floorplan with an aesthetic that reflected the new homeowner’s lifestyle. The designer began the Phase I architectural update by removing the angled walls and halls, while creating a more dramatic entry to the Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom.
What followed was to design unique specialty ceiling details, that created interest, coordinated with the entire home & tied the Master Bedroom and Bathroom together. The Master Bathroom ceiling detail simulates a flowing stream and leads directly to the freestanding Elise tub by MTI. Nordic Chevron glass tiles are inset into the tub wall and add a glimmering play of light when the recessed lighting is turned on. LED tape lighting adds dimension and drama to the ceiling. Franz The Viegener satin nickel plumbing was the clients favorite plumbing in the home!
The White Macabus Pompei Stone countertops linear pattern seems to flow onto the Marvel Stone Bianco Dolomite porcelain tile floor. The lines of both counter and floor mimic organic twigs. It was a challenge to lay out the mirrors and recessed medicine cabinets to create a seamless backdrop to the countertops.
New larger (wider & taller) windows were designed and installed, to facilitate a more picturesque view of the Spa, Pool and waterfront.
The furnishing selections and design of Phase II began with the placement of the clients art. The tranquil palette for the bedroom was chosen as a backdrop for the lively pinks, lavenders, aqua and splashes of cobalt blue in the three paintings. An 82” high biscuit tufted Upholstered Panel bed by Vanguard appears to meet the art, connecting the two elements. The shimmering blue fabric of the king shams pick up the blue of the art. A Lucite and brushed stainless base bench, seems to float and adds an ethereal quality to the bed. Luminous sheer drapery panels softly cascade to the floor, framing the view through the windows. A Chrytorama crystal chandelier is the “jewelry” in the room.
The homeowners wanted a very large dresser, to go under their future 85” TV. It was a challenge to source a piece, so the designers chose the 113.5” wide Solene Lifestyle cabinet by Vanguard. It enabled the ability to use the same specialty finish on the “dresser”, and Vanguard nightstand- which complement the palette.
The clients were intimately involved in the entire selection process for both Phase I and Phase II of the project. The clients and designers totally enjoyed working together to create this sublime Master Suite!
