Cardamon Design – Living Luxe

The opportunity to design a Model and have architectural and furnishing control, is a Residential Designer’s Dream! When the Developer first approached the Designer, there were only basic plans in hand. Drawing inspiration from the clean lines, a Mid-Century Modern inspired aesthetic with a neutral palette, texture and organic elements was chosen. Castlewood 9” wide Oak wood flooring and Sherwin Williams City Loft Paint Color was specified for throughout the home.

The Designer determined that the Kitchen should feel like an extension of the Great Room and designed it to have architectural elements that tied back to the ceiling and focal wall in the Great Room. Flat-cut White Oak trim frames the perimeter cabinets which are by Smithport in a Pure White Semi-gloss finish. The counter and backsplash are Cristallo Marble. The walk-in Pantry is camouflaged by cabinet doors, that allow the back wall of the Kitchen to look more cohesive.

The width of the Kitchen did not allow enough space for a kitchen dining table (which was a challenge for the Designer), so the Cristallo clad Island was expanded to 15’ to allow for gathering & entertaining. Drawing inspiration from a mid-century modern design, the island was designed to be unique and memorable with the Cristallo Marble featured prominently on the façade. Cabico Elmwood base cabinets in a Maple finish complement the counter material. A polished chrome sculptural bowl and cylindrical glass vase are perfectly placed to accent the space.

Sub-Zero Designer Series Refrigerator & Freezer, a Wolf 48” Gas Range w Griddle, Wolf Microwave, Miehle Dishwasher, and Moen Align Faucet were specified for the future Homeowner that enjoys cooking!

Minka-Lavery Pendants in brushed nickel, and six hand-hammered metal Arteriors counter stools were specified. The counter stools add an creative, sculptural element.

To visually and functionally extend the Kitchen, a Bar was added on the adjacent wall and features back-lit Cristallo with Floating Shelves and displayed accessories. In the evening, this wall glows and creates a memory point!
