Calusa Bay Design – Livable Luxury

Often homeowners love their interior spaces so much they expect a design firm to
carry on the inside aesthetic to the outdoor living areas. In anticipation of the
future buyer’s needs in this close to 7K total square footage of livable space, we
designed the outdoor living areas to do just that. We created a multifunctional
space that uses attractive, but subtle materials, like porcelain, shell stone, and
cypress, so as not to detract from the beautiful view of the expansive lake just
beyond the home’s water features and gas fire bowls. In keeping with the interior
wood details, this approachable outdoor area features a timeless, tongue and
groove ceiling detail stained to match the coordinating wood details in the
interior kitchen. The multiple seating areas and dining room are as relaxing and
comfortable as they are functional. First, the outdoor kitchen does not disappoint,
with a Lynx grill, Subzero refrigerator and icemaker, sink, and plenty of Quartzite
Quartz countertops. Custom cypress cabinetry is stained to match the tongue and
groove ceiling for consistency and balance, and a gas fireplace with a 65” flat
screen tv mounted above creates a great opportunity for family gathering. Among
the other noteworthy luxury details in this relaxing space is the fully upholstered,
high performance, Perennial fabric-covered sectional. This light, white fabric and
the coordinating white cool-to-the-foot, shell stone pool deck are so crisp and
happy, they embrace the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. Luxurious chaise
lounges with soft white cushions, and sun shelf waterproof chaises submerged in
several inches of water complete the entertaining areas, great for both day and
evening. The accents of blue provide a cherished coastal vibe and mimic the exact
color of the lake, combined with the variations of blue in the sky, pool, and spa.
The design intention was one of creating a smooth transition from inside to out,
and this is also facilitated by Solar Innovation, accordion-style doors that create a
wide expanse just off the indoor chef’s kitchen welcoming guests to traverse
seamlessly.
