-The purpose of this project was to expand the client’s presence in the Bonita Market, providing additional patient access to services, and a second-to-none clinical environment for patients in the Bonita community.
-This client is a four-time repeat client. This was the fourth facility we completed for Woodruff Institute, which is a new location in Bonita Springs.
-This project encompasses transforming a completely empty grey shell into nine new exam rooms, two laboratories, two patient waiting rooms, a blue light room, a break room, one manager’s office, one physician’s office, and an administrative office.
-The project was completed in 20 weeks, on time and on budget.
-High-end luxury finishes are featured throughout the project. The reception area’s quartz surface boasts underlit illumination and luxury wall treatments, providing a spa-like feel that welcomes patients with a warm ambiance.
-Eight rooms feature notable architectural ceiling details that elevate the space’s aesthetic. These ceiling details feature geometric lines and shapes, which flow into the entire floor plan.
These architectural ceiling details provide an elevated feel for the patients. The client also wanted to create a comfortable working environment for the staff. These ceiling details are also found in the staff break spaces and administrative offices. In addition, the most beautiful views are those from the staff break room.
-Decorative half-moon and full-moon lighting ripple throughout the entire hallway, tying into the geometric theme of the design. 11 full-moon pendants and 18 half-moon pendants shimmer throughout the space.
Construction Challenges
At the very start of the project, water intrusion from the exterior and into the walls was due to a roof leak. Significant remediation was required to make the space safe and prepare it for construction.
-The logistical challenges created by the existing Cancer Center on the first floor of the building (this project is on the second floor) were accomplished by detailed scheduling and coordination between us, the builder, and the Cancer Center. To install plumbing and complete inspections, access to the first-floor laboratory and fire safety room were needed, where highly sensitive laboratory equipment and machinery lived. The utmost care and sensitivity were needed to prevent the Cancer Center from recalibrating any equipment and lab supplies. Clear communication was needed in order to ensure our trade partners were using the correct safety measures and avoiding contact with the equipment.
-The mathematical precision needed to execute the architectural ceiling details was provided by the project supervision’s attention to minute details. Any miscalculation would have resulted in needing to start over with a new batch of drywall and metal framing, which would have impacted the gross profit of the project.
